BIO
Luke Norman is a violinist, arranger, and composer from Menlo Park, California. Luke began playing the violin at four years old under the tutelage of Jacquelyn Corina, studying classical music for 14 years. Luke continued his studies at the Berklee College of Music on scholarship, where he majored in Professional Music with concentrations in Violin Performance and Jazz Composition. During his time at Berklee College of Music, Luke participated in several ensembles and bands, including the Miley Cyrus Advanced Artist Showcase Ensemble, where he arranged the string parts and played first violin. Through his exposure to the music of Thundercat, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Herbie Hancock, and others, Luke became enamored with the tradition of jazz and fusion and the incorporation of contemporary rhythms and grooves into its language. Through his compositions, performance, and teaching, Luke strives to use the jazz medium to honor the forefathers and foremothers of the tradition, express his personal artistry, and share his perspective on the world around him.

Learn To Play
Study the technique of the violin, build a a repertoire across multiple genres and styles, and develop your improvisational voice on the instrument. Explore and express your musicality through the violin, and have fun doing it! Open to students of all skill levels and backgrounds, ages 5 and up.

Study The Art
Explore the fundamentals of music that shape the sounds of music historically and today, learn to describe and understand the elements of melody, harmony, and rhythm, and enable your ears to recognize and respond to musical ideas . Open to students of all skill levels and background, ages 10 and up.
